Before the reunion, there was The ABBA Generation.

Formed in Stockholm in 1998 as ABBA-Teens, Marie, Sara, Dhani and Amit became a global pop act on the strength of "Mamma Mia," "Dancing Queen," and "Upside Down" — selling more than 6 million albums before going on hiatus in 2004.

1998–1999

ABBA-Teens → A*Teens

Formed by Niklas Berg; debut single "Mamma Mia" hits #1 in Sweden for eight straight weeks.

2001

Teen Spirit

Their first album of original material, led by "Upside Down," goes gold in the US.

2004

Greatest Hits & Hiatus

The group steps back after six years and more than a decade of combined solo work follows.
