Side B — 1998–2004
Before the comeback, A*Teens spent six years as one of the biggest pop exports out of Sweden — starting as an ABBA tribute act and becoming global stars in their own right.
Niklas Berg forms the group in Stockholm with Marie Serneholt, Amit Paul, Dhani Lennevald, and Sara Lumholdt to mark 25 years since ABBA's Eurovision win with "Waterloo."
Rebranded as A*Teens, the group releases "Mamma Mia," a #1 hit in Sweden for eight weeks, followed by their all-covers debut album.
The group tours the US, opens for Britney Spears, and appears across Disney and Nickelodeon.
Their first album of original songs, led by "Upside Down," is certified gold in the US and tops a million copies sold worldwide.
A third studio album released across North and South America, led by a cover of Elvis Presley's "Can't Help Falling In Love."
After six years together, the group steps back following their Greatest Hits release, and members pursue solo careers.
